I know

Dark was the day and gloomy the night When lives of youths who for their right Raised their voices with unbridled passion Met their doom while on their civil mission They dies helplessly on our street Unprepared, yet long eternity to meet. Oh that our white flag means peace Oh that our national identity remained unstained  We would have walk and work with ease But for the massacre we are pained When will though arise and shine And put on your purple and wine Let it not be later But rise now, Father of fathers To help the nation whom though loveth  For I know, Nigeria's redeemer liveth. ✍🏽 David Olumide (Beloved)

HEIRS

Father of many children; Jews, Gentiles, even heathen, Although since caused a breach in Eden; Yet willing to call them brethren.  Sacrifice of animals could not do; Atonement with birds, calf and bull, Not a pinch of sin could be moved; So the old testament need to be removed. Then came the first born; He died and left the veil torn, Giving us access to the Father as son; Joint heirs with Jesus made us one. ✍🏽 David Olumide (Beloved)

IN A MOMENT

Christian  life is a marital journey,  Christ being the husband and man, wife; Upon the cross He paid her dowry, At the cross man surrenders her life, In a moment man and God becomes one! Daily she is tempted and persecuted, He (Christ) also suffered for her; Unanswered prayers sometimes made her wonder, Lo, here comes the her comforter, In a moment her sorrow is gone! Hated in the world she lives, Comforted by the word she believes;  Expecting her Lord she loves so dear, Labouring for the harvest so near, In a moment the trumpet will sound! In a moment the Lord will come, In a moment the saints will be gone, In a  moment comes our final redemption, In a moment we shall die no more, Living and reigning before the Father's throne! ✍🏽 David Olumide (Beloved)

GRACE FOR GRACE

If the world's currencies were combined  To pay the price of my sin so great Still for the wages-death will I repine  Grace for grace never to be ingrate  Found its way into my poor heart Restored God's light never to depart All dues paid by the worldwide saviour  Bringing mankind into God's favour  That all may share with his neighbour What only God's grace can afford Not by man's finite and feeble effort For the Living Spirit bears us record  Changed by grace to live and pray Revived by grace the Spirit to obey That we may no longer be a prey To him whose territory we assay Subduing the flesh day by day Grace for grace to tread the Holy highway. ✍🏽 S. Olumide David (Beloved)

HEIRS HOME

#WritcoPoemPrompt13 Filtering rays of sunshine, Brighten up my day, My heart swells with hope and pride, Keen for the glories coming my way... I shall sing hallelujah all the way My soul and spirit love to dwell I'll cross the bridge I'll go up yonder © oladecious

GLIMPSE OF HEAVEN

#WritcoPoemPrompt15  I see the reflection of my happiness, In your eyes, Picture perfect, Like a bouquet of posies, Like a sky full of sunshine... Defining my journey aforetimes, Prologue of heaven, Heaven on Earth. I hear the reverb of choruses, Hallelujah over there, Someday I'll be there, There my heart belongs, No moth nor destroys, Like a gold tried in fire... The dawn of anaphoras, How joy rankshift sorrows To dust someday I'll bid farewell I see the transparency of my heart, In your words, Pure  purity, With a blink past becomes histories I'll be transformed with a glimpse, Just a blink I am home To dust someday I'll bid farewell In you I love to dwell My home I destroy for a better home, The cross I built upon For a better home I'll live, To the dust when I'll bid farewell © adeolaoguntibeju

THE COMING

Strength furnished by the rock Sight made flesh Iron were loins and joint Sight remains penetrable  I gay Unlike adder not others on hoof Announcing his coming unaware  Deception silence he the way Glaring some saw lowered he in grass and crept Till the coming Spotless was I pursuing the heavenlies Till the emerging Enticing locomotion before me he came I succumb not but the flesh

LIFE

FENCE OF FEATHERS

Ideas were itching in mind One to another we table Sincerity unites in truth On to another we lean But a lean on FEATHER In a cloak of pillar  Count on us they chorused We'll guide you through You need change they chant Put us in we'll Change But a change to worse In the beauty of charisma Who guide but the blind As prototype of his in anticipation Walk before me  And be thou perfect We did in a tunnel We are lost ©Adeola Precious Oguntibeju

PERSUASION

The narrow way leads home None love the way But for the home we all walk Victory the ticket to a crown None love to war But for the crown we all conquer None need the sun For the destruction of cold and darkness We plead the sun like a gun we await trigger None love to gun But for the trigger, we gun To be save none sees it efficacy But sickness and death persuade We sing the psalm six ©oladecious

LEEWAY

How will I enter  When all are choristers Pitching high in silence Wearing smiles of faces Their piece I listen in attention Rhythm like the hiss of adder Song of freedom I thought. Pains as stanza agony as chorus, Gay as coda. Conductor they will but not disobey  'ducting stanzas, chorus and coda. Bewildered I gaze as one unconscious Why will I enter and celibate
